#CitiTrends S03 Ep16: Training the next generation of teens

Show Promos-16Regina Honu, Founder of Soronko Solutions and Soronko Academy finally made it on the show and it was truly refreshing having her speak about coding in Ghana.

We spoke about the coding culture and how relevant it was for the next generation of Ghana’s youth. She spoke humorously about some of her experiences but was candid in her assessment of the sector.

She was with Clara who did not know a thing about computers (she actually didn’t know how to transfer files) but has not developed her own online advertising company thanks to the training. Her website is http://www.clagod.com.

There was a YAM app and some news about Facebook’s milestones and Uber troubles as well on the show.

#CitiTrends S03 Ep 15: Tech and the Transport sector in Ghana

Show Promos-15The world of transport is moving at an incredible pace today.

From autonomous vehicles, the intelligent traffic control system to intelligent streets and  more. The problem, unfortunately, is that Ghana seems to be lagging behind woefully in the push for better technology application in the sector.

Kenneth Addai-Kuffuor who is the Operations Manager at iCommuter, a company that aims to provide intelligent transportations solutions to Ghanaians was my guest.

He shared some enlightening statistics about the sector and spoke candidly about government failure to help grow the sector.

There is a new game in Apps segment plus some new uses for urine in the Trending segment.

Here is the conversation as it happened.
